This is my Nan

This is my Nan with my brother last Christmas. Her name is Josie and she's 77 years old. The other day she told me that aged 9, on a hop picking holiday, she'd witnessed a man burning to death. It was at that moment I realised that this woman has some pretty interesting stories to tell. As such, I've made it my new years resolution to document her life and learn a bit more about our shared family history. After all, she may not be around forever. This is a woman who has survived cancer, the death of her husband and partner of 40 years, the blitz, rape, and an impoverished South London childhood and come through it all with the attitude of a prize winning fighter. If she can't teach me something about life then no one can.
